NEM Solutions presents Maintenance Optimisation tool at European Renewable Energy conference

A paper written by members of NEM Solutions’s Energy division about AURA diagnostic and AURA maint, was selected to be presented at the acclaimed European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference in Southampton, UK, last week.  The conference is held every two years, and was attended by delegates from around the world. It is considered to be the most important in Europe with respect to advances in the wave and tidal energy market.

This sparked interest in AURA maint, our dynamic Optimisation Tool for Maintenance planning, considered to be pioneering work for the wave and tidal sector.  Combining forecasting data of oceanic meteology (wave height, wave frequency and wind speed), staff and material availability and currently programmed maintenance tasks AURA maint optimises future tasks into the most cost effective order, depending on the operaters objectives of energy production, asset availability and O&M costs.

As one of a minority of presenters that focussed on Operations and Maintenance, NEM Solutions was the only company to discuss the implications of developing resound maintenance practices in order to ensure that real ‘cost of energy (CoE)’ figures are competitive when compared to other renewable markets.
